The launch reflects ADIB’s broader strategy to expand its covered card portfolio while offering cardholders a closer connection to travel rewards through everyday spending.

The new card is designed to allow customers to earn Etihad Guest Miles on eligible transactions, with enhanced earning opportunities across selected spending categories. The bank said the product combines Shariah-compliant financing with travel-focused rewards, positioning it as a premium option within its covered card offering.

Amit Malhotra, Global Head of Retail Banking at ADIB, said: “At ADIB, our focus has always been on creating solutions that enrich our customers’ lives and align with their aspirations. Our relationship with Etihad Guest spans more than a decade, and we are proud to strengthen this long-standing partnership by introducing the new ADIB Etihad Guest Visa Infinite Covered Card. By combining ADIB’s expertise in financial solutions with Etihad Guest’s world-class loyalty program and Visa’s global reach, we are creating a unique offering that sets a new benchmark in the market. Through our partnership with Etihad Guest and Visa, the ADIB Etihad Guest Visa Infinite Covered Card offers premium rewards, flexibility, and Shari’a-compliant benefits that cater to both lifestyle and travel needs.“

Mark Potter, Managing Director of Etihad Guest at Etihad Airways, added: “We are proud to strengthen our long-standing partnership with ADIB through the launch of the new ADIB Etihad Guest Visa Infinite Covered Card. This collaboration unlocks exceptional travel and lifestyle benefits while allowing members to earn and spend Etihad Guest Miles more easily than ever, offering our members greater value and flexibility. Promising elevated earning opportunities, exclusive privileges, and seamless redemption options, this card has been designed to meet the needs of today’s discerning travellers and enhance every step of their journey with Etihad across the airline’s expanding global network. This launch reinforces our commitment to rewarding loyalty through meaningful partnerships that elevate everyday experiences for our members across the UAE.”

Visa also weighed in on the launch, underlining the global payment network’s role in supporting premium, travel-focused products. Salima Gutieva, Visa’s VP and Country Manager for the UAE, said: “Visa is proud to collaborate with ADIB and Etihad Guest to bring the Visa Infinite Covered Card to consumers in the UAE, which builds on a decade‑long partnership that has delivered exceptional value. The new premium card offers exclusive rewards and lifestyle benefits as well as the peace of mind of worldwide acceptance at over 150 million merchant partners and VisaNet’s advanced security so cardholders can travel with full confidence.”

The Visa Infinite Covered Card is targeted at customers who value both financial flexibility and travel privileges. ADIB stated that cardholders will be able to accumulate Etihad Guest Miles through day-to-day card usage, with miles redeemable across the Etihad Guest program. These redemptions include flights, upgrades, and other offerings available through the loyalty platform, as outlined in the program's standard terms.

As part of the launch, ADIB highlighted that the card includes a welcome bonus of Etihad Guest Miles for eligible customers, subject to meeting specific criteria. The bank added that the card also provides accelerated miles earning on certain types of spend, although exact rates and conditions depend on transaction categories and card usage patterns.

ADIB described the collaboration as a step toward delivering more personalized and experience-driven value to its customers. By linking a covered card product directly with an airline loyalty program, the bank aims to integrate travel rewards more seamlessly into everyday financial activity.

ADIB emphasized that the card aligns with the benefits typically associated with the Visa Infinite tier. These generally include access to lifestyle and travel-related services, such as concierge support and travel protections, subject to the applicable terms and conditions. The bank noted that full details of the benefits and eligibility requirements are available through its official product documentation.

The launch also reflects ADIB’s continued focus on expanding its Shariah-compliant card offerings. Covered cards, which are secured against a customer’s deposit, form a key part of the bank’s consumer banking portfolio and are designed to provide controlled spending with access to premium features. ADIB stated that integrating travel rewards into this structure allows customers to benefit from loyalty incentives while maintaining a covered financing model.

From Etihad Guest’s perspective, the collaboration adds another touchpoint through which members can earn miles outside of flight activity. While the announcement does not include separate statements from the airline, the partnership itself signals an ongoing effort to embed Etihad Guest Miles into customers’ everyday spending habits.

ADIB said the new card is particularly relevant for customers who travel regularly or who prefer to accumulate miles steadily through retail and international transactions. The bank added that foreign spending and airline-related purchases are among the areas where cardholders can earn enhanced rewards, subject to applicable terms.

The introduction of the co-branded card comes at a time when banks are increasingly focusing on reward-led engagement to strengthen long-term customer relationships. ADIB noted that travel-linked benefits remain a key area of interest for premium customers, especially those seeking products that combine lifestyle value with financial discipline.

The card is now available to eligible customers, with applications subject to ADIB’s standard approval process. The bank encouraged interested customers to review the full product terms to understand miles accrual, redemption conditions, fees, and eligibility requirements.

By partnering with Etihad Guest, ADIB is extending its approach to co-branded products, adding travel rewards to its existing range of covered cards. The bank said the partnership reflects its focus on creating solutions that enrich customers’ lives and align with their aspirations.
