Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Ultra-fast satellite internet service Starlink is now live in the UAE, the company confirmed on its website.

According to GulfNews, residents across the UAE can now subscribe to the Elon Musk-backed service, with monthly plans starting at around $82 (AED 300). A “Residential Lite” option is also available from $63 (AED 230) per month.

Separate packages for businesses are offered starting from $68 (AED 248) per month.

The US company offers high-speed home internet service with a hardware cost of $299 (AED 1,099).

Developed by SpaceX, Elon Musk’s Starlink is a satellite-based internet service designed to deliver high-speed connectivity worldwide, particularly in areas where traditional broadband infrastructure is limited or unavailable.

Rather than relying on underground cables or terrestrial cell towers, the system operates through a vast constellation of thousands of small satellites orbiting close to Earth.

These low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites help significantly reduce latency compared to legacy satellite systems, enabling smoother video calls, streaming, and online gaming with faster response times. The company also claims 99.9% uptime, alongside a service designed to remain reliable even in challenging weather conditions for residential users.

The service has already been available in more than 150 countries and territories worldwide.

Last year, the service was launched on Emirates and flydubai flights.
