Riyadh Air Wins U.S. Flight Approval as Global Expansion Plans Gather Pace

Riyadh Air has secured U.S. Department of Transportation approval to operate flights to and from the United States. The approval supports Riyadh Air’s broader plan to connect Riyadh with more than 100 destinations by 2030, backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and a large aircraft order book including Boeing 787s, Airbus A321neos and A350s. The milestone comes as the airline begins early operations, including London services, and builds U.S. connectivity through its strategic partnership with Delta Air Lines, which plans to launch nonstop Atlanta–Riyadh flights in October 2026. Overall, the development strengthens Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 push to turn Riyadh into a major aviation, tourism and business hub.
