Newly shipping X code indicates that X Payments, a component of the upcoming X Money, could debut in the United States before receiving final clearance from all 50 states, according to a leak published by X influencer Alex Finn. Finn wrote on X that "new X code has just shipped that reveals X Payments will launch without approval from all 50 states," implying that the deployment would occur right away.
You may be able to start receiving tips and payments for your content and spaces if your state has allowed X Payments. "A HUGE boom for X creators," Finn continued. Musk has been attempting to turn X into an "everything app," similar to WeChat in China, since purchasing and rebranding Twitter.
Payments are a key component of this ambitious vision, which entails obtaining money transmitter licenses throughout the United States. Although Apple has not yet confirmed it, Aaron Perris, a researcher for MacRumors, fueled the rumors by posting a snapshot of the purported X code. Along with a number of additional features, X CEO Linda Yaccarino stated earlier in December that X Money would debut in 2025.
Cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, stablecoins, or blockchain-based payment rails are the subject of much conjecture with possible integration of X-Money. During an X broadcast, Finn forecasted that Bitcoin would be supported by X payments in one form or another. "It's likely that cryptocurrency will be a good amount of rails for [X] payments."
Musk has previously dabbled in cryptocurrency. SpaceX and Tesla, two of Musk's businesses, are already involved in the cryptocurrency space. SpaceX has been connected to the stablecoin Tether, and Tesla owns a sizable portion of Bitcoin.
Additionally, Musk has previously expressed interest in Dogecoin and accepted it as payment for a number of Tesla goods.
According to Forbes, if X Money incorporates Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, it might spark a market boom akin to PayPal's 2021 announcement of support for Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. At the time, the action contributed to the start of a huge Bitcoin rise.
